KEMPTVILLE, Ontario, Aug. 22, 2007 — Select Sires’ Canadian lineup has never looked better with three of the top five conformation sires, the No. 1 Milk bull, the No. 2 LPI sire and several new graduates that exemplify balanced production, conformation and fitness traits.

7HO7020 To-Mar D-FORTUNE-ET continues his reign as the No. 1 7HO5157 Regancrest Elton DURHAM-ET son for LPI at +1786 and Conformation at +18. This PGAC™ graduate is ranked No. 3 for Conformation and carries the HealthMark™ and Herdlife Builder™ designations. 7HO7746 Mr Derry PROMOTION ties FORTUNE for the third spot on the Conformation list at +18. PROMOTION is sired by 7HO6131 Regancrest Emory DERRY-ET and his dam is world-famous Vandyk-K Integrity Paradise (EX-96-EX-MS), who was named International Supreme Champion in 2000.

Another PGAC graduate, 7HO7653 Plain-O Durham ROSS-331-ET is fifth among Holsteins in Canada for Conformation. ROSS, a DURHAM son, follows in his high-type father’s footsteps with +17 for Conformation and scores +15 for Mammary System. His dam completes four generations of Excellent cows who all produced over 14,000 kilograms of milk.

Select Sires veteran at 99% reliability, 7HO5708 Fustead Emory BLITZ-ET, commands the No. 1 milk position with +3,310 while maintaining a top Conformation score of +15. New to the LPI list is 7HO6417 O-Bee MANfred Justice-ET. O MAN holds firmly to the No. 2 LPI spot with +2320 at 92% reliability and currently ranks as the No. 1 index sire in the United States, Netherlands and Italy.

New releases include 7HO7839 PLUShanski Forge and 7HO8175 Windy-Knoll-View PRONTO-ET. PLUS offers many opportunities with a nice balance of production, conformation and fitness traits, resulting in a favorable +1745 TPI™. This high Net Merit Dollars (+$458 74% Rel.) sire fits today’s free-stall operations transmitting a more moderate frame size with outstanding udders and feet and legs (+1.55 UDC, +2.63 FLC, 85% Rel.). PLUS is a Herdlife Builder and with +3.2 PL (56% Rel.) and 2.57 SCS (73% Rel.), he fits the bill for low-maintenance cows that work and last. PRONTO comes from one of the hottest cow families in the industry today. The Pala family is known for elite type and components and now also elite fitness traits. The dam, Windy-Knoll-View Promis-ET (EX-95-2E-EX-MS-GMD-DOM), was reserve All-American 5-year-old in 2003. PRONTO has two Excellent full sisters with more than 30,000 pounds of milk. One of these sisters was recently named reserve grand champion at the 2007 New York Spring National Show. PRONTO ranks sixth in the United States for Type (+3.42 83% Rel.) and eighth for TPI (+1850). Also added to Select Sires’ Canadian lineup is 7HO7466 Robthom MOSCOW-ET, a 7HO5375 Mara-Thon BW MARSHALL-ET son. MOSCOW excels in milk yield (+1,589 Milk 97% Rel.) and TPI (+1700). He carries the HealthMark and Superior Settler™ designations and has gender SELECTed™ semen available.
