PLAIN CITY, Ohio, April 30, 2003 — Select Sires had another very successful bull classification on June 19, 2003. The Holstein classifier identified 27 new Excellent sires and 63 new Very Good sires. The breed’s top type sire, 7HO5841 HI METRO*CV, was nominated to the committee of three classifiers for a score of 96. Stay tuned to hear how HI METRO’s visit with the committee goes!

7HO6417 O MAN, the breed’s highest TPI™ sire, was raised to Excellent (92), and on his very first classification, 7HO6349 BEST was scored Excellent (90). Both O MAN and BEST are new additions to the Select Sires Canada line-up after the May proofs. Also new, 7HO6326 DIFFERENCE gained a point and was the highest scored sire at Select on this day at Excellent (94).

Newly proven in Canada, 7HO6130 CALBRETT earned two more points to score Excellent (92), while customer satisfaction sire 7HO5206 CLARK and high productive-life sire 9HO2575 BRET each nabbed another point to go Excellent (91). Other Canadian line-up sires achieving Excellent status for the first time include 9HO2704 BEAVER at 91 points and udder and foot and leg specialist 7HO6155 TRADEMARK at 90 points.
